Brief History:
Hellena was the daughter of a tattooed lady and her tattooist husband. She grew up in the Sixties, when free love and drugs were the fare of the day. It was during her wild rebellious years (which happened to coincide with Woodstock), that Hellena was taken into a cult that promised to bring out the maximum potential of all its members. She took what seemed like a million pills, big ones, small ones, all sizes and shapes, and in time she noticed changes coming over her body. Her father was Japanese and her mother American, so she had always stood out. Her hair was becoming lighter and lighter, though.
She left the cult when she realized they were a government project to create super soldiers to fight the Vietnamese. While on the run she was taken in by a blossoming poet with a thing for motorcycles. He taught her how to ride, and she quickly became more daring than even her boyfriend. Their relationship was tempestuous, and She wound up breaking up with him in time, taking her motorcycle and a backpack of clothing into the night.
She wound up joining the same traveling circus her mother and father had been with, and reconciled with them. Her father gave her her first tattoo, and Hellena learned motorcycle tricks. It was about this time that she realized she didn't age, and was able to heal from superficial damage easily. Though it frightened her, nobody in the circus seemed to notice or mind.
When her parents died, Hellena still hadn't aged from the time she'd first started taking the government's drugs. She was an accomplished stuntwoman, but finding work was becoming more of a task for the circus. Their day was coming to an end, while the eighties with their decadence made it easier for Hellena to move around without drawing too much attention.
She got a job at a record store when the circus dissolved, and it was here that she learned she could shapeshift in addition to her other talents. She was in the middle of her break when 'Thriller' came on. Having studied the video studiously, she began to reenact the dance they did, and midway through shifted to look like a zombified Michael Jackson.
Once she discovered this power, she began to play with it. At one point in time she was living four separate lives, and as a result became rather affluent. At the moment she is relaxing, and trying to think of what new mischief she can get into, while she wonders whether she will ever age or not.
Personality:
Hellena is a wild card. She loves to live life to its fullest, and this has filled her with a sense of adventure. She is eager to explore the world, and travels a lot. Things just don't seem right if she's in the same place for a long time.
She delights in new things and takes to new cultures like a duck to water. Even restrictive cultures, where you wouldn't think a free spirit like Hellena would be happy are exciting to her. Being able to cultivate several different people helps lessen the strain that she might otherwise feel in places like Dubai.
She's able to compartmentalize very well. Things that bother Johnathan (her studly male model body), don't necessarily even register to Hellena. While she is intact mentally, she has gotten so good at playing her roles that they are as much a part of herself as her original personality.
Most of all, she is always evolving, and always learning. These are important things to her, since she doesn't know how long she's going to wind up living. There is underneath it all is a kind of fear that she might never die. This is part of the thing that drives her to live her life as much as possible. She wants to taste everything, and see everything, just to keep from being bored.
She has two dominant subpersonalities. One is Johnathan Thimble. He was an underwear model in the nineties, and became an avid hiker. He's thoughtful, observant, and calm. This is the persona Hellena uses when she first arrives somewhere. The male body makes sure she doesn't take too much heat if she's in a male dominated society, and Johnathan is strong enough to protect himself.
Her secondary personna, which she uses when she's feeling down, is a brightly colored woman named Andrea Holly. This personna is like Hellena on caffeine and speed. She almost literally can't sit still, and is always doing something. Usually painting badly. She'll be more than happy to foist her product off on other people, no matter what the product may look like.
